Hello! I am Evelyn Underwood, a CSU Ram pursuing a bachelors degree in bassoon performance. I am native to Fort Collins, but lived in Texas for a small part of my childhood. I don't come from a particularly musical family, although I was introduced to music through my older sibling. 

I originally started out as a clarinet player in middle school (Go Vikings!), but after a semester I switched to bassoon. I remember feeling self-conscious of my playing because I was learning a new instrument a semester later than my peers. However, with a very good teacher, I caught up and began to audition for the select ensembles at my middle school.

Building confidence within the player is crucial to my teaching. Even 7 years later, I still find myself relying on the confidence I first started building as a beginner player.
